GETTING OFF THE GROUND: Does getting off the ground...
✔️Give you pelvic pain?
✔️Makes you feel heaviness in your pelvic floor?
✔️Lead to leaking?
✔️Make you feel WEAK?.
Many parents I treat have trouble getting off the ground holding their baby. As they get bigger and more wiggly, this gets harder! Want a new way to get off the floor AND work your booty at the same time?
I used the #PNF Basic Principle of Approximation (for my non-PT's: the act of pushing through a joint, to get more muscle activation, usually used to create STABILITY) by sitting Logan on my right knee. He's over 20 lbs., so this gave me a TON of stability. I then shifted my weight so it was equal between the ball of foot and heel to get up to a mini squat with more weight bearing on my right foot. Finally, I pushed off my right foot (like the way you would if you were jumping out to your side) to come up to full standing.
Doing this helps train your booty to work in conjunction with the core. --
