MY TAKE: Let’s keep this as simple and as concise as possible. Sony have done absolutely nothing wrong. Anyone who thinks otherwise is siding with the bully in the playground, the person in the position of strength. Forget comics for a second, that is Sony’s character – they own the film rights to Spider-Man. They can do what they want with him, and rightfully so.
You’ve got to realise Disney runs the industry, the agenda with the press, and now you - if you’re part of the #boycottSony talk. Ignore mischievous tweets from Jeremy Renner. I know you think you’re backing Hawkeye, but you’re not. You’re backing a dude who has been paid millions by Disney. Using the “Give it back to Stan Lee” is a cheap move, which he knows will pull at the heartstrings of loyal Marvel fans. It has zero to do with Stan Lee, and everything to do with Disney wanting an exorbitant amount of money for a character they do not own.
Personally, Sony has made the best Spidey to movie to date anyway, and before Spider-Verse they still did. Anyhoo, looking forward to Holland, Hardy, and Harrelson going at it next year. 🧐
QUESTION: How do you feel about the whole situation? Are you in the Disney camp? Are you in the Sony camp? Do you even care? 🤔
